Boat tour pickup on the Makarska Riviera: what “pickup” actually means

One of the most common questions we receive is simple: “Can you pick us up from our hotel?” The answer is usually yes — but the important detail is how that pickup works.

Makarska harbour and boat tour departure area

For most Palladium small-group boat tours, the boat itself departs from Makarska. If you are staying elsewhere on the Makarska Riviera, we can organise a road transfer to the departure point. That is different from sending a boat to every hotel or beach along the coast — and it is usually faster, clearer and more reliable for everyone.

The short version: group tours start from Makarska; optional hotel pickup is normally by car or van. Private charters can sometimes start from another suitable port, but that is arranged individually and may involve a repositioning charge.

For guests joining a scheduled group tour, the following standard transfer prices are used as a practical guide. The exact pickup time is confirmed after booking because it depends on the tour departure time, hotel access and the day’s route.

For smaller parties we may use a car; for larger parties we use a van. The transport team calculates the practical pickup time so that guests arrive before check-in rather than having to work it out themselves.

Group tours: meet in Makarska or add a transfer

Meet on locationBest if you already have a car, are staying in central Makarska or simply prefer to walk to the meeting point.
Hotel transferBest if you are staying in Brela, Baška Voda, Tučepi, Podgora, Igrane or Živogošće and want the logistics handled for you.

Our scheduled tours use a fixed check-in and departure system because several boats and guests may be leaving at the same time. Keeping the boats together in Makarska helps the operation run on time and gives us a clear safety and check-in process.

Private boat tours are more flexible

Private charters are different. Depending on the boat, route, sea conditions and port access, an alternative start or finish can sometimes be arranged from another suitable harbour or island location.

That does not mean every beach or hotel can be used as a boarding point. A safe berth, pontoon or appropriate harbour access is required, and the boat may need to reposition before your charter begins. What should you send us when asking for pickup?

Send the hotel or accommodation name, number of guests, the tour you want to join and a WhatsApp number. We can then confirm the correct pickup option, price and approximate time before you pay.
